Layout
The interiors are equally appealing, thoughtfully styled to balance contemporary elegance with everyday comfort. The spacious, open-plan living area is filled with natural light and brings together a welcoming lounge, a fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar and stools, and an elegant dining area centred around a long table. Decorative candelabra and modern pendant lighting add character, creating an inviting atmosphere for both relaxed family gatherings and special occasions.
The main ground floor accommodates four double bedrooms, each individually decorated with its own understated yet sophisticated style. All four bedrooms open directly onto the terrace and feature private en-suite shower rooms, offering both convenience and a seamless connection to the outdoors. A further two double bedrooms are located on the lower ground floor, each with an en-suite bathroom and separate external access, making them particularly well suited to guests seeking additional privacy.
During the peak summer season, guests can enjoy the added luxury of a cook service six days per week, allowing more time to relax and make the most of their stay. When exploring beyond the villa, the nearby area of Kalamaki offers local shops, traditional tavernas and a beautiful golden sandy beach, all within easy reach. Kassiopi History
A Vast History
The origins of Kassiopi trace back to ancient times, with archaeological evidence suggesting that it was first settled during the 8th century BC by the Corinthians. Its natural harbor and proximity to trade routes made it an important trading post in the region, facilitating exchanges between Greece, Italy, and beyond. During this period, Kassiopi flourished as a bustling port town, its prosperity evident in the remnants of ancient walls and structures that still dot the landscape.
From the Roman to the Ottoman Empire
In the centuries that followed, Kassiopi's fate was intertwined with the ebb and flow of empires. It came under Roman rule in the 2nd century BC and later became part of the Byzantine Empire. During the Middle Ages, it fell into the hands of various conquerors, including the Venetians, who fortified the village to defend against incursions from the Ottoman Empire.
The Ottoman era marked a turbulent period for Kassiopi, as it suffered from raids and occupations. However, in the 19th century, with the decline of Ottoman power, the island of Corfu was united with Greece, bringing a new chapter of stability and growth to Kassiopi.
Recent History
In more recent history, Kassiopi has evolved into a popular tourist destination while still retaining its charm and character. Visitors are drawn to its idyllic beaches, crystal-clear waters, and historic sites such as the Byzantine fortress overlooking the harbor. The village has seen development in tourism infrastructure, including hotels, restaurants, and shops, yet it has managed to preserve its authenticity and allure.
